This year's homecoming theme, Only U, reflects the pride and loyalty of Ute fans everywhere. And what better time to come back to campus and celebrate, than homecoming 1997? Whether a sports fan, an English major, a member of the class of 1967, or just a proud Utah man or woman, the time to return to campus is Monday, October 20 through Saturday, October 22. Here's a list of just some of the activities planned for the week.
Mon., Oct. 20: * The tradition of Songfest continues, 7 p.m., Kingsbury Hall Wed., Oct. 22: * The Beehive Honor Society holds its annual reunion, 6:30 p.m., Alumni House Thurs., Oct. 23: * The opening of the annual alumni art exhibit, Connie Borup BA'67 BFA'73 MFA'92, oversized landscapes, 5 p.m., Olpin Union Gallery * The Emeritus Alumni Association reunion, 5 p.m., Panorama Room
* Best of U, showcases three University departments: The Theatre Department, Athletics, and the Jazz Band"an excellent way to learn more about the U, 7 p.m., Union Ballroom
Fri., Oct. 24: * The second annual Ute Marching Band downtown concert, noon, Gallivan Center Sat., Oct. 25: * Homecoming culminates with a 5K run (9 a.m.), pre-game brunch (10:30 a.m., Stadium), and the focal point of the week, the Utah/New Mexico football game (1 p.m.).
